About The Desk

Licence first. Opinion second. Commission declared.

Why this desk exists

VeloReview was founded in 2026 by a small editorial team in the United Kingdom, after one too many afternoons spent reading casino reviews that managed to say nothing at all. Five hundred words of adjectives, a five-star rating with no method behind it, and not a single mention of who actually holds the licence.

We thought the useful version of this was simpler. Find out who the regulator holds responsible. Print the licence number. Open an account, deposit, withdraw, and time what happens. Score the result against criteria that do not move between one brand and the next. Then say plainly how we get paid.

How a review gets made

Nothing is listed until the domain is confirmed on the UK Gambling Commission public register. That check comes first, because everything downstream is worthless without it. We record the licensee, the account number and the full licence number, and we publish all three with a link so you can confirm them at source.

After that, the desk registers an account as an ordinary customer, funds it with our own money, uses the cashier both ways, contacts support with a real question, and reads the bonus terms line by line. Only then do the six scores get set. Every review carries the date it was last checked, and each brand is re-tested at least quarterly.

How we are funded

Openly. Some outbound links on this website are affiliate links, and if you open an account after following one, the brand may pay us a commission. That never costs you anything and never changes your terms.

What it does not do is move a score. The criteria and weights are fixed and published, the running order is by weighted score alone, and every review carries a "where it falls short" section that no commercial partner gets to edit. If a licence lapses, the brand comes off this website regardless of what it was paying. The full arrangement is set out on our Disclosure page.

What we are not

We are not an operator. We accept no deposits, hold no customer funds, and run no gambling facility of any kind. We are not an agent for the brands we review, and we hold no shareholding in ProgressPlay Limited or any brand under its licence. When you follow a link out of here, you enter a direct relationship with that operator on its own terms.

We also host nothing written by anybody else. There are no comments, no forums, no reader ratings and no uploads on this website. Every word here was written and checked by our own desk, which means there is exactly one party responsible for it: us.

Corrections

We get things wrong occasionally, and terms in this sector change without warning. When we are corrected we fix the page in place and add a dated note rather than quietly editing the record. Send corrections to care@veloreview.co.uk or through the contact form.

The rules we work to

  • Licence verified on the public register before anything is listed
  • Licence and account numbers printed on every review
  • Fixed, published, weighted scoring criteria
  • Every review names where the brand falls short
  • Commercial arrangements declared on every page
  • No reader-submitted content of any kind
  • 18+ marks on every page, in header and footer

Whatever the commission rate. That is the whole editorial policy, and everything else on this page is just detail underneath it.
